"La cara oculta"

Here you have the first lines of Nidia's book "La cara oculta":

The sound of the great battle unfolding around her was ringing in her eardrums, but she couldn't give it the attention she should. Inexplicably, her hand pressed hard on the sternum, felt a kind of viscous liquid covering her palm; her head was spinning , she couldn't understand what was happening yet. A little frightened, she put away her trembling hand of that part of her body, it was totally stained of reddish liquid. What happened? What was happening to her? For a moment she forgot everything , she forgot why she was in that scary place . The pain suddenly was atenuated and then she realized why she was losing so much blood, she had been wounded and she was the one who done it.
